Design Systems That Scale Across Products

A design system is more than a component library. It includes tokens, usage guidelines, accessibility rules, documentation, and a process for making changes safely.

Teams scale faster when components are boring and predictable. Buttons, forms, dialogs, and navigation patterns should feel consistent across products while still allowing enough flexibility for real product needs.

The hard part is governance. Without ownership, design systems become a dumping ground. With clear review rules, they become a shared product acceleration layer.
